The brain works in mysterious ways! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Hopefully, some of you visited the Libby app to check if your local library has quilt magazines. We've had them for quite a while, but I like the paper copy. However, I'm going to change my mindset on that. Besides, Libby will alert me when a new issue comes up. It's all very civilized, but we all know that change is challenging, and I must let myself go with the flow!

If Libby doesn't have them, check if your library has Hoopla. Often, magazines are also available from that app. Digital has many advantages, and it ...

Lost and found! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

And now I'm off to something else today! I've got some classes at the Hobby Horse, and I'm packed!!

Poor Murphy—she hasn't been happy with all the toing and froing these last weeks. But I bet she's confused because there is no big black suitcase at the door—just a bunch of tote bags! But she's not budging from the front door because they did not get a walk yesterday, and I think she's mad!

MOM - you can't leave without me!

We finished the training early yesterday, so I was home ...

A "ME" Day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Years ago, someone told me we should schedule ME days in our calendar. Those would be days when you get to do things for yourself. I've tried but have been unsuccessful, and while yesterday wasn't really an ME day, I didn't sew and ran around for ME.

I made a list of things that needed to be done—emails that needed to be responded to and many other things. I went to bed last night with two things left on the list. Both are responding to emails, so I can do that while I'm away. Yep ...

When you least expect it........... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We had our UFO Club in the morning, and I was one of the few who didn't meet the deadline. That's OK - I'll get it done for next month. I completed part of it, but not enough to say I put in a reasonable effort. I wish I had more time to focus on my UFOs - I'm to the point now where I need this project (Cabin in the Woods X two) off my plate as I'm getting bored with it. OK -- so I am working on applique, which stalls me EVERY time. I like ...

The GREAT Fabric Swap from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Here's a random thought I had when I woke up this morning.

It's all about learning - what else! When we had small children, what did we do for them? We encouraged them to explore, experiment, and color OUTSIDE the lines. We were willing to spend thousands of dollars for ballet lessons, swim lessons, university, books, and so much more.

So what happens when we become adults, and our children are gone? We seem to think learning and spending money on education is a BAD thing. I once had a lady who said she could NOT waste some fabric ...

Lost and found from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Have you ever lost things in your house? Of course -- we have all lost something because we put them in a safe place, and where that safe place is remains a mystery! I keep saying that I'm starting a list of all the lost things because when I find them, I get the satisfaction of crossing them off a list! Because I can't remember what is lost and then found or is still lost. And do I have anything else lost in my house? That's why a list would be great!

While I was at the retreat ...

Automation in Studio B from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks for the tips on sorting digital files and scraps! In an ideal world, all my photos would be tagged and stored in Photoshop Lightroom, making it a snap to find any of them! Sadly, they are not, but I'll work on it! And my computer files are mostly named correctly; however, I think it's mostly because of their location in the file system that I can find them. And I will say that, for the most part, I can find those files very quickly - except for the other day when I needed them for my presentation!

The ...

Jacob's Ladder from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Do you ever have those days when you're so excited and so much is going on that you feel like a kid in a penny candy store with ten cents??? OK - so perhaps I'm dating myself by saying that, but seriously - so much stuff is going on, and it's not even huge stuff. Yep - the little things in life just make me so happy.

I see that Rose has read the six books in the Rockton series I mentioned yesterday by Kelley Armstrong. I didn't have a chance to listen to the audiobook yesterday, although it ...

The pig can see! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I love staying at home! I'm getting so much done, and I'm so motivated these days. I think the motivation is coming from seeing the others on the Zoom calls. I can see what they are working on, and while I'd love to do some of the stuff that they are making, my conscious won't let me until I get some more of my own stuff done!

Of course, I have deadlines to work with, so that's a motivator as well. But the bottom line, I'm making significant progress, and while Studio B still ...

The REALLY good news! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was an exciting day as I played gaffer and prepped the "film studio" located in Studio B for my SVP Canada presentation last night. I don't have time to go into all the details today - I'll save that for tomorrow. Bottom line? I learned a TON about cameras, and I learned that some stores have way better customer support than others do (although we already knew that).

The presentation went very well - I have to say that I was impressed with what I could do. OK -- it wasn't rocket science, but still - I hope the attendees ...

Is this a coincidence? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I know - you want to know what miracle happened at 5 AM yesterday. I won't make you wait.

On my schedule for yesterday was to quilt a small quilt - or should I say to finish quilting the quilt. Actually, the quilt is done, but I don't think there's enough quilting on it so I wanted to do more. But where or where are the threads that I used to make the quilt? I know a box or some kind of container exists. I had NOT started to look for it.

Yesterday morning at 5 AM when I ...
